Worker in serious condition following construction accident

Most people cross the path of construction workers in North Carolina as they go about their daily lives. While they may recognize the importance of this occupation, some are unaware of the harm such workers face every day that they report to work. In fact, a recent construction accident in another state has left a man in serious condition.

The incident happened on a day in late July. According to reports, the construction worker was on the 49th floor of a building. While many details are unclear, he was reportedly struck in the head with a piece of equipment.

A witness claims that the man was lowered from the building with a crane. It took approximately 15 minutes to bring him to the ground. Reports indicate that the laceration on the man's head was apparent as he was being lowered. He was transported to the hospital after he was brought down from the building.

Officials with various organizations are likely investigating in the incident to determine exactly what happened. In the meantime, the injured worker needs to be focused on his recovery, but financial concerns due to accumulating medical bills and lost wages could also be weighing on him. However, employers in all states, including North Carolina, are required to provide workers' compensation insurance benefits for their employees to help them with the financial ramifications of a construction accident such as this. The man may choose to hire an experienced attorney to help him negotiate a fair settlement, potentially reducing some of the stress he may feel about his current situation.
