Carnival worker injured in workplace accident

Unexpected job-related accidents in North Carolina can unfortunately cause not just physical pain but also financial difficulties for injured employees. One man in an out-of-state case recently suffered injuries at a county fair. The workplace accident occurred on a Saturday.

According to authorities, the carnival worker was struck by a piece of equipment that had fallen. The accident involved a ride known as Speed, which spins people in the air. Apparently, the man was servicing this ride when the equipment struck him.

The incident occurred at around 9:13 p.m. Following the accident, the man was transported to one hospital and then to another hospital. There, he was determined to be in stable condition.

Most companies in North Carolina have to buy workers' compensation insurance to cover workers who are injured or fall ill on the job. Through this type of insurance, an injured worker can receive any and all medical treatment necessary for him or her to heal quickly following a workplace accident. Injured employees will also receive a majority of their weekly wages until they are able to return to work, and they may even receive payment for mileage both to and from doctors if that benefit is available to them through workers' compensation insurance. People who suffer injuries at work have the right to pursue the full amounts of these benefits to which they are entitled depending on the facts of their individual cases. If their claims for workers' compensation insurance benefits are denied, they also have the right to appeal these denied claims with proper legal guidance.
