Man injured in work accident at subway site

While working on the job, an individual may suddenly incur a debilitating injury that requires treatment and recovery time. A work accident can be devastating for a person in North Carolina not only physically but also emotionally and financially for the entire family. With workers' compensation insurance benefits, however, an injured worker increases his or her chances of recovering quickly while also remaining financially stable.

One man in another state was recently injured at a subway site. This accident happened on a recent Wednesday afternoon. Authorities said that a portion of the concrete machine that he was trying to clean ended up striking his leg. This incident occurred an estimated 100 feet beneath the ground.

The area was dangerous and had unsteady footing. Accessing the injured employee and raising him up several stories from the subway took 75 firefighters over an hour, officials reported. A particular construction crane was used to lift him up, and he was taken to the hospital. He was in stable condition, and authorities expected him to survive. Police continued to investigate the incident.

After being physically rescued from the work accident scenario, the man may very well be financially rescued through workers' compensation insurance benefits. These benefits come from insurance that employers must purchase so that injured workers can get a majority of their paycheck amounts covered while they heal. Benefits also help to pay for the medical treatments these workers need in order for their conditions to improve. It is within their rights to seek all of the benefits they need in North Carolina.
