Car accident in North Carolina injures 1, kills 1

Once a driver loses control of a vehicle and veers off course, it could prove difficult to regain control of the vehicle and safely reenter the lanes of traffic. Should a driver overcorrect, the vehicle might drift across nearby lanes of traffic and into the path of others nearby. A recent car accident that took place after a driver lost control of a vehicle and veered across several lanes of traffic has left one person with injuries and claimed the life of another in North Carolina.

Loss of control

Reports indicate that the incident took place at around 6:15 p.m. on a recent Tuesday after the driver of a northbound vehicle lost control and veered off the road. Authorities assert that, while attempting to navigate back onto the road, the driver overcorrected and veered across all three lanes of northbound traffic. The vehicle proceeded to collide with a second vehicle in the process before crossing the median and colliding with an oncoming truck.

Authorities have advised that the driver who caused the crash was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the truck suffered unspecified injuries and was transported to the hospital for medical care. While the incident remains under investigation, no further details were provided as to what might have caused the driver of the first car to lose control and veer off course.

Aftermath of a crash

Being involved in a car accident can be a harrowing process, and those who suffer serious injuries in the process could experience various challenges in life. Those who suffer harm during an incident due to the actions of another party may be left with questions about their available legal avenues, and they could choose to speak with an attorney for advice on the next steps to take. An attorney can evaluate the incident, along with a client’s injuries, and assist him or her in preparing to seek the restitution deserved through a personal injury claim.
