Man injured in work accident involving airplane engine fire

A seemingly normal day at work in North Carolina can rapidly morph into a dangerous one when an unforeseen accident takes place. Such an accident can land a person in the hospital, struggling to recover and hoping to return to work quickly. One man recently found himself in this scenario following a work accident involving a fire at an airport.

The accident happened when a worker for Delta Air Lines was responding to a fire that erupted in a plane engine during the late night hours on a recent Friday. The blaze broke out after the plane had landed. According to officials, firefighters at the airport were able to extinguish the fire.

Fortunately, no passengers got hurt, authorities said. However, one ramp worker suffered injuries and had to be transported to the hospital. Information about the employee’s condition was not immediately available following the incident.

When someone is hurt or falls ill on-the-job, he or she may be frightened at the thought of losing the ability to work for a while. After all, many people in North Carolina depend on their ability to work consistently in order to earn a living and support their family. Workers’ compensation insurance benefits can feel like a blessing during these times. An injured worker is entitled to receive necessary financial benefits as well as medical care through his or her employer’s workers’ comp insurance coverage. Proper legal guidance may help such individuals to ensure that they get the maximum amount of benefits they are eligible to receive in our state after a work accident.
