Worker injured by falling sheet rock files lawsuit

Individuals who work in and around construction zones are often forced to perform work duties in less-than-ideal work conditions. The drone of loud machinery and precarious moving equipment and machinery put workers in danger of suffering work-related injuries on a daily basis.

One man recently filed a personal injury lawsuit related to an injury he sustained while performing work duties at a building that was under construction. The man, who is employed as a professional painter, was performing assigned work duties when a section of sheet rock struck him.

According to court documents, the injured worker filed a lawsuit in which he names the owners of the building who he claims were responsible for contributing to unsafe working conditions that ultimately resulted in his severe injury. The accident occurred as the man was painting when an unknown employee dropped a section of sheet rock directly onto the man's head.

As a result of the accident, the injured worker sustained serious injuries which have caused him to experience mental pain and anguish as well as a permanent physical disability. In the lawsuit, the man contends defendants failed to provide for a safe working environment and warn other workers of potential hazards of falling or dangerous building materials. What's more, the unknown worker who is responsible for dropping the sheet rock is accused in the lawsuit of reckless and irresponsible behavior which ultimately led to the accident.

The injured worker is seeking an unspecified amount of compensatory damages related to disability, injury, medical expenses, lost wages and an overall loss of enjoyment.
