Work accident at gas plant leads to head injuries for man

Being involved in a sudden accident at one’s workplace can be disconcerting in North Carolina, as the accident may result in painful injuries and the need for costly medical attention. When family members hear that their loved one has been hospitalized due to a work accident, they may also be worried about the employee’s safety and health, in addition to worrying about the financial cost of the accident. One man and his family recently found themselves in this predicament after the man was injured at a gas plant in another state.

The incident occurred when a fire erupted at the gas processing building. The accident occurred on a recent Saturday morning. The male employee suffered injuries to his head, authorities said.

The injuries were so serious that the man had to be taken via helicopter to the hospital. He did end up being released from there. Crews were able to extinguish the facility fire prior to the arrival of firefighters, officials said.

The man and his family may benefit from workers’ compensation insurance benefits following the work accident. Workers’ compensation insurance benefits can help to quiet an injured employee’s fears as well as those of his or her family members, as these benefits help to pay missed time from work and cover medical treatments that the injured worker needs. Companies in North Carolina, by law, must provide workers’ compensation insurance for this very reason. Injured employees reserve the right to pursue legal guidance in an effort to claim all of the benefits to which they are entitled.
